OLED TVs can give you a bright picture, with smooth motion, vibrant colors and is much slimmer than LED-backlit LCD TVs.
Nowadays, many of the TV brands are developing OLED TV sets which include Panasonic, Sony, LG at reasonable and affordable prices. LG is the stronger and prolific in this area. What is OLED TV
OLED stands for Organic Light Emitting Diode. Every pixel in an OLED screen is made up of a material that glows when you switch it on. A kind of heating element in the toaster, but with less amount of heat and better resolution. This effect is called electroluminescence which is one of those words that is big, but make sense: electro for electricity, a lumen for light and essence for well.
The specific electroluminescent material which is used in OLED displays is organic compounds, which means they contain carbon with a mixture of some other ingredients as well. Each color requires a different set of natural elements.
The main effect is that each part of a tiny OLED pixel in the screen creates light which depends on how much electric current you send it. Lots of presents, lots of light. No current no light. What’s more, that is one of the keys to OLED magnificent quality picture.

OLED is an expensive technology that even after several years it is still providing difficult for manufacturers to get it right.
What’s the difference between OLED and LED?
OLED stands for Organic Light-Emitting Diode, with “organic” refers to the carbon film that is inside the panel before the glass screen. OLED panels emit its light when an electric current is passed through it, whereas cells in a LED display also requires an external source of light like a dim backlight for brightness.
This means whether an image is white or black, it is being lit by the same brightness across the screen panel. Organic Light reduces the hotspots or areas of super bright light because the actual light source illuminating them is so uniform.
This all started ten years back when engineers in some of the giant companies like Sony and Samsung introduced an array of LEDs as a backlight, which means if a particular part of the screen was black than those LEDs behind that portion could be turned off to make it appear sharper and blacker.
This is the best solution than a CCFL backlight, but it still has some issues. The result is an effect which is called ‘blooming’ whereas LED light from bright portions of the image bleeds over into areas of blackness.
This is what makes a difference between OLEDs from LCD/LED displays.
An OLED TV display is that every individual organic pixel which can create its light and color output. OLED TV means pure, perfect black which can be produced. OLED screens can even achieve deeper blacks than plasma TVs while avoiding the picture noise which is associated with plasma technology.
